Key Messagesfor Walk Safely to School (We have changed it to Lets get safely to school to include the students on wheels!)

Live Far Away- Part Way is OK- get dropped off near the school and walk, means less congestion around the school gate.

Students- when you cross the road you need to STOP LOOK LISTEN THINK- even if you are on a bike.

We need community support-

DROP AND GIVE ME 40is a local initiative which aims to encourage drivers to check their speeds especially around schools and along local streets where students are walking or cycling to school.

Slower speeds means YOU HAVE MORE TIME TO react and the impact is lessened if you do crash.

Everyone who drives a vehiclecan SUPPORT the students by:

1. slowing down in local streets
2. being more aware of cyclist and pedestrians by making eye contact at intersections.
